Amaia Montero was born in 1976, in Irún, Guipúzcua. She started the group "La Oreja de Van Gogh" in 1996. She sang ina talent contest buy they didn't. Win they went to another talent contest-they won! in 1997.
When they got a contract with sony the group released their first CD "Díle al sol" in 1998.
In 2000 they played 150 concerts and recorded second CD "El viaje de Copperpot".
Next she sang with Alex Ubago on his first CD. Now the group split up, and she has released a CD by herself in solitary.
